Incorporating the Extract Technology patented Flexible or Rigid Screens into a Downflow Booth provides a physical barrier between the active product and the operator, thereby immediately improving the attainable containment levels. Recent tests on Booths have confirmed that levels <1µg/m3 can be achieved, depending upon the application.

Extract Technology were the first to integrate screens into Booths as long ago as 1991 and went on to develop a range of workstations to improve containment levels, these being the forerunner to today’s range of Containment Screens.

Significant benefits of a Rigid Screen include the following:

  • Up to 5 dimensions of movement including side to side, up and down, front to back, rotational and lockable tilt options, providing the best possible ergonomic solution.
  • Multiple mounting arrangements available including the use of actuated arms for ultimate flexibility.
  • Can be easily “folded away” on the side wall when not in use or totally removed
  • Can be earthed and manufactured from anti-static acrylic or glass to allow it to be installed in Zone 22 ATEX areas.
  • The screen can be adjusted to suit all operator heights
  • Any type of gauntlet or glove can be incorporated into the design.
